Ranks
Curtin University’s strong global reputation has seen us rise up the international university rankings in recent years.

Curtin University is now ranked in the top one per cent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2020 and have risen to 217th in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2020-21 and to 246th in the world in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Curtin University is also ranked 20th globally for universities under the age of 50 in the QS World University Rankings 2019 and 34th in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THEWUR) ranking of the top 351 institutions under 50 years of age. In addition, the university received a five-star overall excellence rating in the QS Stars rating.

The 2018 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) report also found that Curtin graduates with a postgraduate degree earned the highest salaries among their graduate peers in Western Australia.

Curtin University has also ranked 55th in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THEWUR) ranking of the top 351 institutions under 50 years of age, up from 68th previously, and we have risen to 9th in Australia, up from 12th in the last edition.

Employability
Curtin collaborates with some of the biggest companies globally to ensure our research and education is relevant and that you graduate highly employable.

The 2015 Graduate Destination Survey indicated that close to 90 per cent of our students secured full or part-time employment upon the completion of their degree.

Research strength
In the 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) results, Curtin University was acknowledged for its national and international reputation for research excellence.

In total, 95 per cent of the research fields assessed at Curtin were rated at or above the world standard.

Curtin was awarded the highest rating of five (well above world standard) in the fields of astronomy and space sciences, numerical and computational mathematics, geology and geochemistry as well as chemical sciences.
